The Young Britons Foundation has relaunched its web site, and it looks really beautiful. With the launch of a campus newspaper also imminent, the organisation is going from strength to strength, and is succeeding at doing so many of the things Conservative Future has perhaps neglected. Why are europhiles starting to claim that many Frenchmen voted against the EU Constitution not out of euroscepticism but because of their feelings about Chirac and national politics, as if it's some knock-out blow? Among those nominal Anglicans who really believe in Biblical morality, there cannot be many who haven't at times toyed with converting to Catholicism. One needn't examine the party identification figures in opinion polls for long before realising that the notion that conservatism increases with age and experience is no chauvinistic right-wing slight. The Telegraph reports that with rape convictions not rising to keep pace with accusations, the conviction rate for the crime is now at an all-time low. Either an awful lot of rapes are being committed, or an awful lot of potentially life-destroying false accusations are being made - probably both. Whichever way one looks at it, it's a depressing figure.
