You couldn't make it up
From the Guardian web site:
Peter Mandelson, the twice-sacked minister who is to be Britain's new European Commissioner, rented a luxury London home from the Lebanese millionaire now accused of funding an illegal African coup.
Third time lucky for the Tories? We must hope so.
If Mandelson is forced out a third time for this, just days after Tony Blair appointed him, the Conservative Party should demand that Blair himself resign. There comes a point when blind loyalty to the incurably corrupt is itself a form of corruption, and it appears that Mr Blair has now demonstrated that to be true of him.
