In arguing that the Dead White Males are still prominent on university syllabi, the always readable Matthew Yglesias notes:
I had a fair number of hardcore lefties as professors at one time or another, but assume you count English people as Europeans, I believe I took a grand total of four classes that didn't feature at least one reading by a European author.
What a wonderful sentence. Doesn't it speak the most eurosceptic of volumes that even a member of America's East Coast liberal elite couldn't quite take this assumption as going without saying?
